MEET THE DOCTOR
Dr. Najam Zaidi
Dr Zaidi is an infectious disease specialist based in Providence RI. He divides his time between teaching at the division of Infectious Diseases, Roger Williams Medical Center and leading the Infection Control and Antibiotic Stewardship for Southcoast Hospitals Group. He is an Assistant Professor of Medicine (Clinical) at the Warren Alpert Medical School/Brown University where he has been teaching since 2004 and has won the Dean’s teaching award for clinical clerkship in medicine in 2004 and 2005 and has been involved in the doctoring program since 2007. He did his residency in internal medicine at OSF St Francis Hospital, University of Illinois College of Medicine in Peoria IL and his fellowship in Infectious Disease at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, MI. His international work prior to residency included work as a field epidemiologist at the Aga Khan University division of Community Health Sciences. His research interests include hemorrhagic fevers, hospital epidemiology, antibiotic resistance and antimicrobic stewardship.
